Within walking
distance of the cabins you will find gorgeous well marked hiking
trails, waterfalls and wildlife. Or just sit on the front porch
of your log cabin and enjoy mild summer temperature or snowy
crisp winters. When you decide to leave the natural setting of
your cabin in 15 minutes you can venture into historic Banner
Elk.
In Banner Elk enjoy a quaint, historic mountain resort town.
With gourmet restaurants to ice cream at "The Lodge" , and
shopping, theatre and concerts available you are almost
guaranteed a good time. Be sure to stop at the old mill pond and
feed the ducks, they have come to expect the hospitality of
visitors. If it is more the "city life" you crave, venture a
little further out to Boone. In about 1/2 an hour you can be in
Boone which offers everything a "booming little college town"
should. At some point you should visit Grandfather Mtn.,
Tweetsie Railroad, and Linville Falls considering they are so
close.
Of course you can
also find great golf courses, day spas, whitewater rafting,
tubing, fishing, biking, kayaking, and almost anything else you
might want. But when you return back home to the cabin don't be
alarmed if you have to wait a moment for the deer or flocks of
wild turkeys to cross the road, because "back at home" that is
the only traffic jam you will find. |
